Mathieu Gardon is a midwife sonographer specializing in gynecological and obstetrical ultrasound. He works at SF du Parc clinic with 6 other ultrasound practitioners, at Lyon. He also works at a hospital where he monitors labor and performs eutopic deliveries (normal childbirth). He provides the necessary care for mothers and newborns and advises women on breastfeeding and contraception.

Keeping track of the captured and pending ultrasound images is challenging

Mathieu Gardon begins by sharing that while performing the ultrasound examination, they have a checklist to fill in, with a certain number of items and images to be taken. It ensures that the exam is complete. However, he finds it complicated to ensure they have completed and sent all necessary views. A checklist helps greatly while performing pregnancy ultrasound exams.

Occasionally, the fetus is in a particular position and he has to adjust his personal routine based on the position. In such cases, utilizing a checklist assures that, despite altering the usual approach, all necessary shots will be captured by the end of the examination.

He says, “Because the child will have a particular position, we’ll change our routine to adapt to the child. And having a checklist allows us to be sure that at the end of the examination, even if we’ve changed the way we do things, we’ll still have all the images we need.”,

Enhanced security and uniformity among exam formats reduce the mental burden

“Sonio really allows us to secure our examination”

He explained it further saying they need to have uniformity in their report as well. Based on the different recommendations, they have to work to make sure reports are consistent every day (regardless of the patient or condition). Using Sonio helps him to a great extent in securing exams and giving all patients a thorough and consistent check. It also brings comfort to daily practice, making sure everything is seen and all needed images are taken, which is a relief for the practitioners.
